Leading Through Innovation Essay
Creativity and innovation in an organization mean developing new ways of improving how it does its work and provides services. An environment that fosters creativity and innovation provides people with an opportunity to think beyond traditional solutions to common problems, think outside the box, and develop new ideas (Snow, 2019). Additionally, creativity and innovation promote problem-solving and allow people to look at things from different perspectives. This discussion presents a strategy to create an environment fostering creativity and innovation in my organization.
Various strategies create an environment that fosters creativity and innovation in an institution or organization. The strategy I would use to create an environment that fosters creativity and innovation is enhancing conclusive working conditions where creative and innovative ideas flourish by being taken seriously. Lee et al. (2020) note that conclusive working conditions promote creativity and innovation since members of the organization are confident that their ideas and propositions are acted on and rewarded. It also entails creating a stimulating atmosphere where members of the organization have the time and space to innovate and raise creative ideas. Weintraub and McKee (2019) note that leadership significantly influences the creativity and innovation of the team members. As a leader, I would also provide a two-way feedback process and a stage for brainstorming, thus providing conclusive working conditions. Additionally, I will develop my creativity and lead through creativity and innovation through training, creating and embracing new opportunities, and leveraging the creativity and innovation of other team members.
Based on the above discussion, creativity and innovation are essential aspects of any healthcare organization. It is essential for a leader to not only foster an environment that promotes creativity and innovation but also lead through creativity and innovation themselves. As discussed above, one of the effective strategies to create an environment of creativity and innovation is creating inclusive working conditions where creative ideas flourish.
