Essay,Letter And Memorandum Paper
Nouns and pronouns are essential to medical professionals. Understanding nouns and pronouns support communication, which is vital for the success of healthcare interventions. Medical office documents are crucial to the nursing profession. Professionals strive to ensure their work is well-documented to ensure care conduct and provide evidence of care provided. Understanding these medical documents is vital to success in the nursing profession. This essay reviews communication and documentation in healthcare, their roles in nursing, possible improvement and better ways the information could be conveyed.
Items summary
An assessment form is a nursing document used to collect client information for diagnostic and management purposes. The assessment varies in different populations and from patient to patient, depending on the evaluation objectives. Most institutions use templates to assess patients based on their overall objectives. Discharge summary forms are care documents that identify the care milestones of a patient during the termination of inpatient care of a patient. The forms strategically collect patient information and detail their experience and interventions during the period they received care in the facility (Oberg, 2018). A discharge summary is a communication tool vital to the billing, pharmacy, security, and records office. It facilitates documentation of discharge from the facility and appointment booking, purchase of drugs to take at home, and allows exit from the hospital as it signifies the end of inpatient care. It contains the current health state, reasons for discharge, medications on discharge
Plan of care forms are medical documents that outline patients’ current diagnosis and management interventions, both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic. All care professionals have different care plans for their patients depending on the objectives they are trying to achieve. Hospitals prepare their customized care plans, but most entail the following: summary of health condition, medications, care providers, emergency, and end-of-life ethical considerations such as “do not resuscitate order.” A nursing narrative note is a part of a patient’s chart with detailed patient and symptom information. The note is brief and short and helps the care provider (nurse or doctor) to make appropriate recommendations. The purpose of the narrative is to provide clear information on the patient to help nurses and other healthcare providers make appropriate decisions regarding patient care. Examples include handing over reports with ISBAR and SOAP notes
Nursing flowchart forms are a tool designed by nursing professionals to improve communication with professionals from, fellow nurses, other care providers, and other healthcare leaders. It is also a framework for decision-making and provides a basis for proper and holistic management (Odberg et al., 2020). For example, nurses develop flowchart diagrams for the nursing process indicating patient presentations and the various interventions used. These flow charts are vital communication tools that can be used by other professionals in need of nursing services
Relevance and Utilization in Nursing
These documents in nursing will be used in various ways. They will help communicate with other nurses. These documents inform the nurses of care interventions and the remaining interventions. The documents will also help ensure care continuity by showing the interventions and proposing interventions that could improve outcomes. They will also help improve communication between nurses and other healthcare providers. Nurses work with other professionals such as doctors, pharmacists, home care providers, and nutritionists. These documents also serve legal purposes as evidence of care delivered. These documents will also be used to improve the nursing body of knowledge. For example, nursing flow charts will help nurses, and other healthcare providers make healthcare decisions with ease as they will form the basis for care interventions
Proposed Improvements
The proposed improvements in learning are based on current technologies. The overall desire is an improved body of knowledge and better communication skills. The book and resources provide a vital body of knowledge but do not propose an evaluation method. The evaluation method is unreliable because only students can evaluate their work after studying. Education simulations are borrowed from gamifications and engineering technologies enhanced to fit the medical field. Simulations in nursing have increased the ability to access information, test knowledge, and promote the transition to routine practice (Jeffries, 2022). Besides the learning interventions, students should be introduced to simulations, allowing them to develop their skills and get instant feedback on their performance. The instant feedback will also help the supervisors assess their students, determine areas of greatest need, and determine students with the greatest need and avail help. Simulations help practice skills and gain mastery hence their utilization. Incorporating these amazing technologies in the future will improve how they are delivered and learned.
Better Ways Information Could be Conveyed
The information on communication and documentation relevant to nursing could be conveyed separately and in different headings. The information has been conveyed creatively, providing audiovisual stimulation and better understanding. According to Fuady and Mutalib (2018), audiovisual stimulation in learning promotes better understanding compared to audio or visual stimulation used independently. The book has related the two parts of speech to the medical field using medical terms, aiming to improve communication skills. The information has been incorporated in learning nouns and pronouns in communication, and these documentation forms are not the focus of learning. Whereas they are vital to understanding the different types of nouns and pronouns, the knowledge of these documentation methods and their roles in communication could be easily overlooked. In the future, the information could be relayed in separate books and headings to enhance the student’s focus on these communication tools. Making them the primary subject will ensure students develop an interest in them and increase their skills and knowledge. The intervention, coupled with the proposed improvements, will produce superior outcomes and promote better outcomes in promoting students’ skills and knowledge.
