From my own experience, I would say that the conflict most people experience is between what they want and what others want for them. For example, you may want to pursue a certain career path, but your family or friends may want you to take a different path. Or you may want to get married and have children, but your partner may not want the same things. The key to resolving these types of conflicts is communication. You need to sit down and talk with the people involved and explain your thoughts and feelings honestly. You also need to be willing to listen to what they have to say. If both parties are open-minded and willing to compromise, then there is a good chance that they can reach a resolution. The purpose of this paper is to designate a conflict, determine the number of characters needed to resolve the conflict, and create a story on this conflict.

It can be difficult to forgive your partner and move on from such a betrayal. However, it is important to remember that your partner is not the only person involved in the affair.

Short Story

George and Lucy have been married for 12 years. Recently, they have been having problems in their relationship due to Lucy’s extramarital affairs with another man. This has created tension within the family, as George is not happy about what she is doing. He is not sure if he wants to stay in the marriage or not. George and Lucy have two children, aged 7 and 10. Initially, they were just like any other couple. Lucy took on the roles of mother and wife to the fullest extent possible. A full-time worker, George considered himself as the family’s primary provider. He was somewhat interested in the lives of his children, but not as much as his wife was. Lucy gave up her career to be a stay-at-home parent and dedicated her time solely to her children. They did not spend a lot of time alone together throughout their ten years as parents. All of their activities were geared toward or for the benefit of their young children. She seldom had time for herself since she was a full-time parent and felt bad when she did. For two reasons, she did not seek for aid from her husband: 1. She should be able to cope on her own like a decent mother and 2. He should be aware of this and not have to be told. There were feelings of bitterness in her heart throughout the years, but she did not express them. She would communicate discreetly, but he could not pick up on it or react. The exhaustion set in after ten years of this. It was long before she started to go out and neglect the consequences of what she was doing for her family. She had an emotional breakdown and started behaving in ways she had never done before, including spending a lot of time away from her family. A romantic liaison ensued when she met a guy who seemed to be interested in her. However, it was caught before it became physical. Immediately after her husband’s revelation, they began a course of therapy.

She was enraged by her husband’s lack of assistance around the home for so many years, and she was ready to lash out. He was perplexed, to say the least. He had no clue that she was so enraged by him since he had worked so hard. For whatever reason, he lost faith in the partnership when she began an emotional affair with another man. She was able to shift her focus from blaming her husband to taking a closer look at herself as they dug further into their marriage to figure out why the affair occurred. After some soul-searching, she started to see the flaws in her own thinking. Affair was a way to avoid confronting the reality of the marriage, she recognized. This far has been possible in part due to her avoidance of confrontation. To be good enough, she had to be flawless. This was a message she received from her mother, with whom she had a strained relationship. Despite the fact that she never expressed her needs to her husband, she expected him to step up. His wife’s sadness went unnoticed by her husband, who was caught off guard by the affair and her revelation that she had grudges against him. In addition, he tried to stay out of trouble. Over the years, he came to understand that he may have picked up on her dissatisfaction, but he chose to ignore it rather than risk escalating their rift.

George and Lucy decided that it was time to go to therapy. They were on the verge of divorce, and they knew that they needed help if they wanted their marriage to last. The therapy session was intense. The husband sat across from his wife, with a counsellor on either side of them. One family member sat on either side of the counsellors. And a religious leader sat in the corner, silent and watchful. The husband glared at his wife. “I can’t believe you did this to me,” he spat out. “After all I’ve done for you…”

His wife looked down at her hands, tears streaming down her face. “I’m sorry,” she choked out. “I don’t know what came over me…”

Therapy was a difficult process for them. They both had a lot of anger and resentment towards each other. But over time, they started to open up and share their feelings honestly. They began to understand why they were feeling so angry, and they learned how to communicate better. Eventually, therapy helped them save their marriage. Even though they did not want to go down this path, they did not know how to make it work with two children. They went to weekly therapy for six months and then monthly check-ins for another six months, and they were able to save their marriage and are now enjoying a new connection with one another, as well as feeling happier and healthier.

It is not clear how they achieved it. To better comprehend her own erroneous thinking, she engaged in introspection. She had come to the realization that being a good mother does not need being with her children all the time. There is no need for her to feel guilty about taking time for herself. Her spouse listened and was sensitive to her requests as she sought to convey them. Since he realized he can’t only care for his family financially, he’s been much more involved in their upbringing and household chores. They worked together to comprehend what occurred, how to avoid it, and how to forgive each other for the emotional hurt she caused. He began to believe in her again as she became more open and forthcoming with her true feelings. Also, when things did not go as planned, they spoke about it openly, honestly, and lovingly. As a result of their experience and the counseling process, they learned how to communicate with one another, express their needs and become responsive to one another, forgive and rebuild trust, they learned a great deal about themselves and each other, and ultimately created a marriage that they both feel good about being a part of.

Conclusion

There are a few things that can help resolve an extramarital affair conflict: -Couples counseling. This can provide a safe and neutral space for both parties to share their feelings and thoughts about the affair. It can also help identify any underlying issues that may have led to the affair in the first place. -Open communication. Both parties need to be able to talk openly and honestly with each other about the affair and everything related to it. This includes discussing their feelings, what happened, why it happened, and what they want moving forward.
