The Triple Aim and Health Care Quality

Performances of a health system may be evaluated in terms of cost of care, the general health of the population and the experiences of patients in care administration. The Triple Aim thus sets out to provide affordable care by lowering the costs of care (Lacagnina, 2018). Additionally, management of population health ensures services are accessible and disease burden especially from chronic diseases is low. These would ensure improvements in the health of populations (Storkholm et al., 2019). Quality of care may mean being disease-free or resolution of symptoms. In some instances, it may mean interactions during the provision of care. Patients generally may attain satisfaction through symptom relief and the way they are handled by health care providers. One of the aims of the Triple aim is to achieve better patient encounters by providing effective and satisfactory care.
High-Impact Leadership and the Triple Aim
High-impact leadership ensures the development of effective approaches and the necessary drive to produce desirable changes in health systems (Al-Habib, 2020). This can also influence behavioral changes in the health care system which can impact its performance. Additionally, frameworks for change and direction can be developed to steer health systems towards achieving the goals of the Triple Aim. Collectively, the influences of high-impact leadership will enable the goals of the Triple Aim to be achieved.

Healthcare delivery goes beyond the clinical aspects of care and also includes the performance of the health system and its effects on health care. The Triple aim aims to produce desirable changes in health care that will lead to improved health delivery. Effective leadership is also required to attain these positive goals.
