Summary of strengths:
I am a good communicator, I always maintain boundaries, and I am also empathetic and a good listener. Concerning the skills I am supposed to acquire, I am already confident in maintaining professional boundaries and starting and keeping healthy therapeutic (and working) relationships with clients and fellow staff. I am also confident in demonstrating non-judgmental practice approach and empathy towards patients and clients. Lastly but not least, I am also confident in exercising my practice within my scope of practice. |
Opportunities for growth:
I recognize that there are still numerous opportunities for growth for me during this course. One of them is being comfortable with preceptor feedback which will lead to a huge opportunity for self growth. Accepting constructive criticism along with positive reinforcement will also help me develop sharper skills over time, and subsequently enable me to work more independently towards the end of the semester. Yet another opportunity for growth is networking; which can open many doors providing different opportunities throughout the practicum and beyond. I recognize this opportunity and that is why I strive to always practice interprofessional communication and collaboration as that is where networking starts. Lastly but not least I also acknowledge the fact that joining online groups with like minded people within the psychiatric nurse practitioner community can lead to new connections and career opportunities. This in itself is a powerful form of networking given the current digital communication space. |
