Networking Opportunities
Walden University is a favorable University for students who aim to achieve their life, career, and academic goals in nursing. Before joining the University, I was not too much ambitious about my future nursing career after evaluating instances of most unemployed nursing undergraduate nurses. Hence, I planned to think about my professional life once I graduate and receive my first employment letter. However, after enrolling in the nursing program at Walden, such a negative perception about my future nursing goals and visions changed. That is because the University provides theoretical and practical experiences to its students, which made me realize that I need to gain more knowledge in nursing to carry out my obligation as a nurse advocate (Gerber, 2018).
When reflecting on Walden’s mission, the University promotes diversity, a situation that encourages cultural cohesion (Walden University, n.d.-a). As I advance my nursing education, I aim to ensure that I serve a diverse patient population equally to bring along cultural and ethnic harmony in society and the world at large. Also, when I assess Walden’s University vision which states that the school aims at providing an academically rigorous education, I think that Walden is the only University I will ever come across that is concerned with offering individual-centered education for the excellence of all its students.
Walden University’s Master of Science in Nursing enables nurses to engage in cost-effective nursing practices that cater to different health disparities (Walden University, n.d.-b). Hence, the main organizations I can collaborate with include the Centers for Disease Control, which uses evidence-based practices to reduce healthcare disparities, and the American Nurse Association to help me advocate for my patients’ rights in policymaking processes. As Walden University continues to support its students through practicums and workshops, I will use these opportunities to create a networking plan that will be essential once I complete my master’s program. The benefit of networking is that one may be lucky enough to meet their future employer. In conclusion, Walden university should be the first choice for individuals seeking nursing excellence.
