Disparities in socioeconomic status lead to differential exposure to various risk factors, ultimately resulting in health disparities—individuals with more significant income, employment, and educational prospects experience reduced mortality and morbidity rates. Viewing health through an equity perspective within a comprehensive policy approach aims to create policies that enhance overall health and minimize disparities. Health equity impact assessment effectively integrates health equity into policy planning (Brownson et al., 2021). The plausibility of policies reducing disparities, whether in medical care or social determinants of health, such as living standards, education, working conditions, and social acceptance, must be considered.

As a result of the adoption of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) in 2010, millions of Americans who had not previously had health insurance could get coverage for their medical expenses (Baumgartner et al., 2020). This opened the door for reducing health and healthcare inequalities. Furthermore, the significant legislation expanded access to care. It established Offices of Minority Health within agencies of the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to address health disparities, enhance workforce diversity, and mandate community health needs assessments for nonprofit hospitals receiving tax exemptions.

I plan to use emails to disseminate information about health equity policies like the ACA to my stakeholders. Email has been a vital communication tool for more than two decades and is now just as prevalent in business interactions as the telephone. When it comes to communications, having the capability to send plain text or rich material straight to a contact’s inbox is a beneficial technology (Dawes, 2020). Communication via email is a more efficient and automated method compared to traditional telephone conversations.
