Your EET, and subsequently your Synthesis of Evidence (SoE) will contain data to support the who, what, when, where, and how of your proposed intervention(s). Next week, you will turn in your EET for eight of the total articles. I strongly recommend that you complete your EET this week so that next week you can concentrate on synthesizing the data. 1. Think about a recent clinical experience. (Be prepared to describe it briefly.)
2. What clinical practice guideline(s) would have been helpful?
   1. Search for a clinical practice guideline that you could have used in that experience.
   2. Use a search engine to find a “practice guideline for…,” or search for a guideline using the resources found in the Learning Materials section.
   3. Download and complete the Assessment of Clinical Practice (PDF)Links to an external site. to critique the quality of the guideline.

Chapter 8, “Advancing Optimal Care with Rigorously Developed Clinical Practice Guidelines and Evidence-Based Recommendations”

This chapter describes the process for evaluating clinical practice guidelines (CPGs). It also contains a list of general and specific guideline databases (see Box 8.1).
