The organization needs to include the use of effective strategies to improve patient outcomes. Therefore, Root Cause Analysis can be used to align this need with patient safety (Martin-Delgado et al.,2020).  One of the aspects is considering a particular patient safety issue, especially an issue that negatively impacts patient outcomes, such as healthcare-acquired infections. The Root Cause Analysis directs that the next term focus on assembling a multidisciplinary team to support a comprehensive analysis. The team then stakes the steps of comprehensively defining the problem, data collection, and using various techniques to identify what has caused the healthcare-acquired infections. As part of the solution, contributing factors are considered, and then prioritizing the root causes is achieved before implementing corrective strategies to improve patient safety.

Regulatory and accrediting bodies usually influence how organizations operate by setting or formulating particular regulations that need to be followed. An example is the case of the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA). This regulation has influenced healthcare organizations in various ways. For example, the regulation has strict security and privacy standards that focus on protecting patient’s health information (Moore& Frye, 2019). Therefore, healthcare entities are required to adhere to these standards by implementing various strategies, such as electronic health records, which help safeguard patient’s private data and confidentiality.

Question Two

Learning plays an important role in ensuring that individuals acquire adequate knowledge. Therefore, learners should be proactive in participating in various learning strategies and approaches designed for a course. Some of the engagements include discussions, peer involvement, class assignments, and other written assignments (Li et al.,2019). This course has various assignments and learning activities, which proved to be beneficial. It is important to explore and discuss such learning activities or assignments. Even though many assignments and learning activities were accomplished, some of them stood out as compared to others.

One of the assignments that was particularly beneficial was an assignment involving accrediting bodies. I was able to learn the history of accreditation, the accrediting bodies, and their roles in ensuring that the organization adheres to the set standards and guidelines for better patient outcomes. One of the bodies comprehensively discussed is the National Committee for Quality Assurance, which was established in 1990 as an accrediting body but has since expanded its scope to include the measurement of the quality of medical providers and practices (NCQA, 2023). It was also important to know how these bodies operate as well as their leadership structures.

Another assignment that was beneficial was the assignment involving factors that impact and influence quality, safety, and patient-centered care. Various factors were discussed, including technology, collaboration, communication, shared decision-making, and laws, regulations, and policies. It was important to learn how these factors can be modified to help enhance patient outcomes. Even though this course offered various learning experiences, there are other aspects that can still be improved or added to the learning experience in the course. One of them is more discussions and peer involvement. More peer discussions offer a platform for scholarly engagement, which has a net effect of improved knowledge and skill acquisition.
