Anticholinergics relax the bronchial smooth muscle by competitively inhibiting muscarinic receptors (M1, M2, and M3). Ipratropium bromide is the most commonly prescribed Anticholinergic. FEV1/FVC < 70% and FEV1 < 30% predicted or FEV1 < 50% means severe COPD.
