Personal Model of Leadership

My leadership style is transformational leadership. This is the current leadership style that has proved more significant in realizing objectives in the organization. My leadership style relies on transferring the power to the people where it is based on motivation, inspiration, and collective change (Andriani et al., 2018). The dream of becoming a leader started in my high school grade when I was tasked with the role of becoming the head student tasked with managing students to undertake the normal school roles. The ability to secure this position in my early days has been significant in sharpening my leadership skills.

Throughout my leadership roles, I have learned that an effective leadership style applied in the healthcare industry should be essential in strengthening and integrating healthcare delivery. The healthcare team is directly involved in the positive patient and organizational outcomes (Andriani et al., 2018). Therefore, developing a good relationship with the worker is one of the important pillars in driving healthcare organizations towards success. The high quality of services offered in the healthcare institution often depends on the input of the nurses and other healthcare teams. Effective leadership that cares about the well-being of nurses would provide nurses with the urge to raise the standards in health care delivery.

In my perception, I define my leadership is defined as the connection between individuals leading and those being led. The power one gains over the people starts from the relationship one builds with people. It allows the leader to control the emotional intelligence of employees that would be driving them towards meeting the assigned duties in their respective tasks. Despite the significance of numerous leadership styles in the health care setting, the transformational leadership style has been effective in the modern universe because of the integration that the sector requires to attain the highest level of service delivery.

In comparing my leadership model with the servant model of leadership, I would say that the attributes of inspiring trust in people, developing them, and respecting individuals by their unique leadership qualities (Sihite et al., 2020). Servant leadership focuses on developing and supporting employees within the institution, while transformational leadership focuses on inspiring employees to work towards a common goal. While all these leadership styles rally employees toward meeting goals, transformational leadership is more concerned about the speedy achievement of a common goal by focusing on the employees’ abilities.

This leadership style is preparing for future leadership in healthcare. The need to meet and drive change in healthcare requires a transformation leader who will rally employees toward meeting a common goal. This is the main ingredient that aids in establishing effective nursing surrounding that would be an aid in the attainment of objectives. This kind of leadership focuses on working with a team to create change. Besides, it entails guiding a vision through inspiration and executing transformation in tandem with a committed group of people. The transformation leadership style would first dwell on developing a team working within a given favorable environment to realize a particular change in the health care institution. The kind of work in a health care institution requires teamwork (Andriani et al., 2018). This entails building a team among all the health care workers who will have a major role in offering exceptional services. This would not come from the leader watching from a distance and issuing roles, but it would be coming from acting as an example that nurses and all health care workers would be following. Setting an example effectively builds a team and creates a cohesive co-existence between leaders and subjects.

Personal Worldview

The two contending schools of thought rely on the perception that leaders are born, while the other posits that leaders are made. These arguments imply that becoming a leader is a broad concept. However, the general concept of leadership is that it occurs when people try to impose their influence to change the behavior of an individual or group of people for any reason (Sihite et al., 2020). Transformational leadership is a relation influence where the leader seeks to motivate the subjects toward a common goal. In most cases, leaders act as an example of what the subjects need to do to meet the required goal in the institution.

This leadership style is premised on a Christian belief in unity, selflessness, integrity, and striving to see the good in other people. Whereas leadership is all about relation influence, transformational leadership is an influence defined by Christian beliefs. These beliefs of integrity and selflessness when dealing with other people and being in their situation aid in bringing the best out of them and assist their growth (Entwistle, 2021). My leadership model of transformational leadership style entails individual unity among the teams to realize authority instead of gaining power. The style focuses on esteeming the worth of people, interfacing, and collaborative working for and with others to develop and grow them. In addition, it correlates to collegial leadership, where leaders involve the followers in decision-making and responsibility processes.

My leadership model relies upon inspiring people and deriving the good out of ordinary people. Seeing the worth of followers enables me to utilize several ways and procedures to perform leadership obligations for different teams. Every person has an inbuilt talent that a transformational leader needs to outsource to every employee (Entwistle, 2021). The combined leadership attributes have given me an edge in collaborative teamwork with peers and followers and reinforcement of interdisciplinary partnership during the implementation of leadership projects. Joining the input of every employee in an institution allows a leader to include all the employees in the development of the organization.

My professional leadership behavior inspires others by using the spirit of collaboration, interlinkages, and involvement approaches with teams in the shared decision-making process. This strategy has not only been effective in motivating the team but also exhausting the best out of all the employees. My leadership worldview of moral values, beliefs, revered character traits, and actions have informed and shaped my life purpose and is a means of inspiring team members (Edwards & Honeycutt, 2021). The values and beliefs have instilled in me the element of honesty by which I have gained trust and authority to lead and grow followers and work with diverse teams and disciplines more successfully.

Conclusion

Leadership is a wider concept that infuses the culture and behavior of different people trying to impose their influence to change the behavior of an individual or group of people for any reason. Transformational leadership is a relational influence where the leader seeks to motivate other people to achieve a common goal. The personal leadership model is the ability to develop and utilize a person’s pragmatic leadership features to guide life’s direction. These attributes are significant in shaping a leader and subjects.
