Human beings face many health challenges at different times in their lives. To recover quickly and prevent a disease’s recurrence, it is crucial to understand the disease’s management basics and apply them effectively. Superficially, the process seems manageable, but it is complicated when a disease’s management essentials are complicated, like in scenarios when a patient must understand DNA/RNA replication, transcription, and translation.

Breast cancer is one of the diseases I have encountered in my personal life from a close person. Marcus (2018) found that breast cancer develops when several mutations occur in multiple genes. Although genetic mutation is at times beneficial by protecting people from deadly viruses like HIV, a DNA defect can have far-reaching consequences since it can make a person chronically ill. Regarding replication, the mini-chromosome maintenance proteins (MCMs) are effective bookmarkers for the early detection of most common cancers. Considering that breast cancer is among the most common cancers, it is crucial to understand the relationship between mutations and replication, transcription, and translation to improve breast cancer management. Alaini et al. (2019) found that one way to improve cancer management is to prevent the mutation of defective genes. When patients understand such connection, they engage in active dietary interventions such as a high intake of micronutrients. Recommended micronutrients include fiber, calcium, iron, and vitamins (Alaini et al., 2019). Besides optimizing micronutrient intake, limiting exposure to chemicals causing cancer is highly recommended.

Understanding DNA/RNA replication, transcription, and translation implies that a patient is adequately informed about their disease development, mutation, and the impact of defective genes. Such knowledge is essential in the management of breast cancer. The patient adopts the appropriate interventions to avoid gene mutations when the process can cause chronic illness or exacerbate the current situation.
