A healthy work environment is essential for the performance of nurse practitioners. It enables the nurses to provide safe and quality patient care to their clients. A healthy work environment for nurses is created through leadership behaviors. The two insights that I had from the reviewed articles are that leaders contribute significantly to creating healthy work environments and the impact of such conditions on the workers’ job performance. A positive and authentic leader’s essential qualities include honesty, clarity, self-awareness, empathy, and behavioral integrity. These qualities enable a leader to create a positive work environment where employees feel empowered, thus delivering quality services to their clients (Sili et al., 2014).

I have seen these leadership behaviors and skills used in practice in a healthcare setting. The possibility of burnout, intention to quit and dissatisfaction of workers in these settings are reduced by positive leadership behaviors (Mudallal et al., 2017). Nurses’ job satisfaction is improved by a leadership behavior that empowers them to utilize their behaviors, skills, and knowledge to regulate their job performance. For instance, a healthy work environment in practice was created by leadership behaviors and skills. These qualities influenced how a nurse supervisor communicated with his subordinates during care delivery (Suratno et al., 2018). The nurse manager talked to nurse practitioners about the significance of being serious about providing quality and safe care services to the patients. Nurses were not confronted during the talk, but instead, they were reminded about the significance of being committed to their duties. The manager also listed to the employees attentively as they were airing their views and challenges experienced in their clinical practices. Addressing these challenges would improve the duty performance of the nurses in the healthcare facility. These skills were effective and had a significant impact on the workplace since they improved the quality of care and overall clinical outcomes.
