Module 3 Essay Question
The two cultural works that attracted my attention from the virtual visits are Cornerstone and Dymaxion House. The cornerstone as a cultural work that commemorates the dedication of The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village was laid on October 5, 1929 (Risko, 2018). It contains pieces of marble from the quarries at Carrara, Italy and granite from Barre, Vermont. The stone was cut and shaped by the Piccirilli Brothers of New York City. Buckminster Fuller was a genius when it came to design. He is best known for his invention of the geodesic dome, but he also designed a number of other famous structures, including the Dymaxion House. The Dymaxion House was a prefabricated home that could be easily assembled and transported (Cohen & Prosina, 2020). It was designed as an all-in-one unit with a kitchen, bathroom, and sleeping area. The idea was that people could order one of these homes online and have it delivered to their doorstep in just a few days. The choice of the two cultural works was influenced by their significance to both the time period in which they were created and the present times.

The cornerstone of the museum is inscribed with a dedication to “The Henry Ford”, recognizing his significant role in the development of industry and innovation in America. His company, The Ford Motor Company, was one of the first to mass produce automobiles and made them accessible to the middle class. The museum’s collection reflects this focus on industrial innovation and technology, as well as the American heritage and culture. The Dymaxion House was designed as a response to the Great Depression (Cohen & Prosina, 2020). It was meant to be an affordable and efficient way for people to live.
The key aspect of human culture in relation to The Cornerstone of The Henry Ford’s cultural work was its dedication to educating people about the industrial revolution and its impact on society (Risko, 2018). The museum offered tours, exhibits, and educational programs that explained how machines changed the way we live, work, and play. Visitors could explore a replica of an early American village, see cars from different periods in history, learn how to make soap or print newspapers, and more. The goal was to help people understand the past so they could make better decisions about the future. One of the main question about the key aspect of human culture in relation to Cornerstone of The Henry Ford cultural work is: how does Cornerstone reflects union of nature and the technological advancement among the people in the time period in which it was created/developed (Cohen & Prosina, 2020). What was the Cornerstone of The Henry Ford’s cultural work? To find the answer to the above questions, I would use the keywords such as “Cornerstone impacts on human culture”, “Cornerstone”, “cultural impacts of cornerstone artwork”
