A conclusion from Week 6 assignment article that I found interesting and applicable to the nursing practice is about the high risk of alarm fatigue, compassion fatigue, and burnout among nurses working in the critical care unit (Storm & Chen, 2021). These issues are associated with the high demand for comprehensive and regular healthcare among critically ill patients seeking healthcare services in the intensive care units. Consequently, nurses are committed and dedicated to providing high-quality care to these patients, exposing nurses working in the intensive care unit to alarm fatigue, compassion fatigue, and burnout. Evidence from this article would be applied to improve nursing practice. The study findings indicated that nurses working in the intensive care unit are at a high risk of fatigue and burnout due to high workload and long working hours. This issue can be addressed by increasing nurse staffing in the intensive care unit. High nurse staffing will reduce workload and shift hours among nurses working in this unit, preventing nurses’ fatigue and risk of burnout. NR 439 Week 7

Question 2: Strategies that would be used to disseminate research-based evidence

Disseminating research-based evidence facilitates the implementation of evidence-based practices in a healthcare organization. Nurses incorporate research findings into their clinical practices, resulting in high-quality care and positive health outcomes (Houser, 2018). I would disseminate research-based evidence via academic journals and conferences. Publishing the findings in academic journal articles and holding conferences would facilitate sharing of the research findings with peers. Academic journals would make the research findings accessible to a huge number of the targeted audience. However, this dissemination strategy does not allow the peers to ask questions or seek clarification. On the other hand, peers can ask questions when research findings are disseminated via conferences. As a nurse, I would be involved in communicating and applying nursing research evidence since they understand clinical issues facing patients that can be resolved via evidence-based interventions.
