You had some great points about stressors and life expectancy. With the additional stress from COVID and increased sedentary lifestyles there could be an impact on health and wellness that would not be present if those issues didn’t exist.

Health inequities have become very common in most parts of the world. Most people from low-income family backgrounds have problems accessing quality healthcare services. According to Freeman et al. (2020), health in the United States Constitution is the responsibility of states, not the federal government, which leads to large diversity in states’ public health spending, regulation, and performance. Where a person lives greatly impacts their health, hence determining how long one will live in general. If a person lives in an area with good healthcare practices like good drainage, lack of pollution, and good healthcare institutions, it is easy for them to live longer. On the other hand, for a person who lives in an area with no health options, it is easy for them to get sick, hence reducing their life expectancy. I intend to practice in California since I have always wanted to live there.

California had the 4th highest life expectancy in 2020 since a newborn was expected to live up to 79 years. Life expectancy in California is two times higher than the life expectancy in the US (USA Facts, 2023). This shows that there are quality healthcare standards in this state. One thing that makes California have a high life expectancy is that health insurance is available in different avenues. There is private insurance like the ones offered through employers and public-funded options like Medicare for older people and Medicaid for low-income earners. There are also insurance plans for veterans and active-duty military members (USA Facts, 2023). However, some people in California do not have health insurance. Although the number is less, that is 7%, this percentage has low life expectancy because they have minimal access to quality patient care. I will ensure that I train such people to take care of themselves by showing them how to practice safe lifestyles like exercising and eating quality meals.
