Reflection on learning and practice readiness

Completing this course has profoundly impacted my comprehension of the vital role that DNP-prepared nurses play in implementing evidence-based practice changes and enhancing practice outcomes. It has challenged my thinking and broadened my viewpoint, emphasizing the significance of integrating scientific principles into everyday clinical care (Auta, 2019). One aspect that particularly resonated with me was applying the Knowledge to Action model in translating critically appraised research into practical clinical scholarship (Suzuki et al., 2019). This model was a guide when developing my DNP practice change project, where I aimed to implement and assess EndeavorRx, a digital therapeutic game designed to improve cognitive outcomes among children diagnosed with ADHD. Through this endeavor, I gained knowledge regarding analytical methodologies and how they can be effectively employed alongside current technologies to drive positive transformations.

As part of my project, I carefully explored the ethical implications by strongly emphasizing upholding human rights and guaranteeing equal access to healthcare for all participants. This undertaking gave me valuable insights into how an organization’s culture can foster team collaboration and enhance population health (Sellers et al., 2019). The entire journey of conceptualizing, creating, executing, and assessing my project has reinforced my appreciation for the significance of clinical scholarship methodologies. Applying these methodologies has advanced both my personal and professional development and led to tangible improvements in patient care.

As I prepare to practice as a DNP-prepared nurse, my readiness to lead with professionalism, advanced clinical judgment, systems thinking, resilience and accountability in selecting, implementing and assessing clinical care has significantly improved (Melander et al., 2021). My confidence in using my knowledge and skills to support evidence-based practice has strengthened. I am better equipped to enhance healthcare quality and improve patient outcomes using evidence-based practices. This course has deepened my commitment to continual learning and professional growth to adapt to the changing demands of healthcare practice effectively. It is evident from this experience that integrating scientific foundations into day-to-day clinical practice holds immense significance within the nursing field. This integration helps nurses make well-informed decisions while delivering evidence-based care, ultimately leading to positive patient outcomes.
