Professional accountability implores nurses to be responsible for their actions and decisions in their personal and career lives. Social media platforms allow nurses to share their moments and interact with friends. However, nurses must be cognizant of values and ethical expectations based on their professional conduct and practice (Farsi, 2021). The purpose of this paper is to reflect on social media accounts and activities about personal and professional accountability.

Evaluation of posts, conversations, and images on Social Media

The posts, conversations, and images that I reviewed and evaluated from the social media entail those on Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter). The posts depict various moments in my life; especially happy moments and opinions. The posts also show my chats with different people, especially friends and colleagues concerning certain topics and issues, from personal to professional and career aspects. The activity on my social media accounts appears to align with my personal and professional values. My values include compassion, love, empathy, kindness and honesty, integrity dedication, and devotion to serving others. These include integrity, respect, accountability, and embracing diversity (Geraghty et al., 2021). The activity shows that in most instances, I demonstrate and practice thoughtfulness and consideration for human values and the dignity of others based on Christian values. Christian values like love and kindness implore people to be considerate of others and advance better messages (Lalani, 2020). Nurses are professionals and patient advocates trusted by millions of patients, their families, health populations, and the general public. As such, they should adhere to standard conduct that aligns with professional values, regulatory mandates, and workplace policies in both personal and professional activities and interactions (Rubio-Navarro et al., 2020). They should be conscious of the opinions, content, and conversations that they engage in to avoid any violation.
