I have prior knowledge of the objectives in Topic 2, including contrasting leadership and management, understanding of various leadership theories and styles, and possible conflict causes and resolution strategies. For instance, research shows some differences between leadership and management in an organization. Leadership is the process by which a leader can influence others to achieve a specific goal, while management relates to leading projects to completion through planning, execution, and management of people, scope, and resources (Liphadzi et al., 2017). As effective leadership is a leader in organizational success, various leadership theories and styles have developed. These include process leadership, transactional, laissez-faire leadership, behavioral, and transformational leadership theory (Benmira et al., 2021). There are various objectives I lack prior knowledge of. For instance, in Topic 1, I am not knowledgeable about the objective of discussing the US healthcare system and its effects on nursing and care provision. Research indicates increased challenges in the US healthcare system, such as health insurance coverage, stability of healthcare safety net, inequities in access and outcomes, and market power and consolidations (Buntin, 2021). Therefore, there is much that needs to be done. I also lack knowledge of the objective in Topic 3 concerning evaluating the ethical, social, legal, economic, and political effects of practice change. Lastly, I lack prior knowledge of the objective in Topic 4 concerning the analysis of the effects of healthcare policy on healthcare firms and cost-effective healthcare. 3. What course-related topics would you like to discuss with your instructor and classmates? What questions or concerns do you have about this course?

There are various course-related topics I look forward to discussing with my instructor and classmates. One of those topics is nurse leadership and healthcare policy and advocacy. The discussion will focus on the increased participation of nurses in the development of public health policy in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. For instance, the pandemic unintentionally initiated an acute need for nurses to promote changes in healthcare policy in the US (Anders, 2021). Another topic that necessitates discussion is cost-effective, innovative healthcare delivery models, especially the functions of nurse leaders in adopting innovative care models. The major question concerning this course relates to how often classmates will be required to contribute to the online discussion through peer responses.
