Problem Statement Create a problem statement for your PICOT. You will use this problem statement throughout your final written paper.	In the recent past, falls among the old population has been increasing mortality and morbidity rates among this population. Falls are unplanned descent to the floor with or without physical injury of the patient. Falls include instances when a patient lands on a surface where one would not expect to find a patient (Stevens, & Lee, 2018). In the health care system, health care professionals examine fall injuries by checking pulse rate, breathing and blood pressure. An emergency call and CPR would be initiated for unconscious patients or those without pulses. Nurses check injuries such as cuts, bruises or any broken bone (Barban et al., 2017). Age is one of the critical factors determining fall among patients. Older people are at a high risk of death or injuries from falls. As people grow old, they tend to experience an inability to perform other activities they used to do at a youthful stage (Lohman et al., 2017). The old-age diseases also increase the risk of falls. For example, most of the older adults with Dementia in the rural areas have limited access to palliative care that increases risk of fall (Park, 2018).
