Stakeholder support is an important part of implementing evidence-based practice in nursing. Stakeholders offer suggestions, resources, and support to complete a proposed evidence-based practice (EBP) project. However, certain stakeholder barriers hinder the implementation phase of an EBP project. The two stakeholder barriers that may affect the implementation phase of the proposed EBP project are resistance to change and insufficient knowledge and skills among nurses in the facility. Stakeholders like nurses may resist the use of hourly rounding intervention because of changes that it shall institute like ensuring every hour a nurse conducts purposeful rounding to identify falls and those at increased risk for falls. The change will increase their workload and alter workflow; and this will increase anxiety among the nurses (Lai et al., 2022). Again, due to inadequate knowledge, nurses will require training that may implore the management to allocate resources like time and personnel; leading to increased cost of care (Murphy et al., 2021). As such, the barriers will affect the implementation of the proposed EBP to enhance patient outcomes and require appropriate strategies to overcome them. NUR 590 Topic 5 DQ 2

To get stakeholder support and overcome these barriers, the EBP team will implement various strategies that include effective communication and engagement of all parties, training and educating nurses and improving processes to determine the viability of the proposed interventions. Training and educating nurses will help them acquire relevant and necessary skills and competencies to handle patients better and accept the proposed intervention (McNett et al., 2022). Effective communication and engagement of the stakeholders will ensure they accept the proposed project and offer sufficient support to meet its goals and objectives.
