I have prior weekly knowledge of the objective in Topic 2 concerning the difference between leadership and management. Jibreal (2021) explains that management entails various processes such as planning, budgeting, and organizing the human capital to accomplish the set tasks while leadership relates to setting direction, formulating strategies, and inspiring the employees to achieve specific goals. Jahan (2023) also asserts that leadership involves the behavior emanating from group needs focusing on voluntary followership while management is concerned with controlled and predictive behavior.  I also have prior knowledge of the objective in Topic 3, which involves the essence of performing an organizational needs assessment. Lombard et al. (2020) explain that organizational needs assessment is vital for setting priorities and establishing the criteria for solutions to enable sound decisions. Additionally, I have prior knowledge of the objective in Topic 6 involving differentiating servant and transformational leadership styles. Benmira & Agboola (2020) explains the differences between servant and transformational leadership styles. One course-related topic I would like to discuss with my instructor and classmates concerns how effective leadership styles such as servant leadership and transformational leadership can be leveraged during times of health crises such as Covid-19. These styles can be used to provide leadership to ensure the quick provision of healthcare services. The main question would be how nursing students can acquire effective leadership competencies.
