Reflection:
My personal goal has been revolving around becoming a professional nurse. My interest in becoming a professional nurse stem from the kind of life that I have been living. My background was filled with problematic issues, especially within my family, with many people, both the aged and the young suffers from various diseases but they did lack effective care that could save their lives. The level of suffering I saw among my people has been triggering my motives to attain the highest level in nursing. The climax of my interest in the nursing profession comes from my ambitions to make people around me feel good. When I was nursing, my grandmother broke her wrist, and there was no one to help me take care of my grandmother. As I was nursing my grandmother, the hospital professional talked about my grandmother suffering from anold age disease. These are issues that have been compelling me to perform better in nursing and create a path of attaining the highest level of education in nursing. In the wake of understanding my role in the community, I was interested in learning about nursing and joining nursing community to create change in health care. However, the odds did not work in my favor because I was not able to receive any scholarship to join some of the best nursing institutions in the country. However, the information gained from my practicum practice has been significant in enlightening me on some of the effective scholarship programs that I can join after the completing of the practicum (Stevens& Lee,2018). The relationship I have developed with some of my colleagues at thefacility ash been important in learning more about scholarships and applying some of the best institutions that would have a great impact on my career. Life experiences have been assisting me to prepare for my career. Each person tends to have both long-term and short-term goals in life. However, in my situation, I longed to reach the highest level in the nursing profession. Besides my interest in the profession, I possess a robust multicultural background that aids me in understanding different cultures and how other people view things in society (Taotofi ]& Lealaiauloto, 2019). Besides, the multicultural environment has effectively comprehended other cultural approaches to health care. These are some of the unique qualities that impact the development of my career and show the level of readiness to pursue my dreams in the nursing profession. I have developed skills from my internship programs where I was attached North Carolina Assisted Living of Mulberry. Today, having undergone the practicum program at my clinical site at North Carolina Assisted Living of Mulberry, I share in the thought of my preceptor who was instrumental in my practice and have been advising me to go for scholarship positions(O’Rourke & Caramanic, 2020). I can also attest that nursing school has a unique experience. An individual cannot fully describe nursing as a profession unless she has undergone the system and appreciate its significance in patient care. The journey towards becoming a professional nursing starts from elegant performance on the nursing school that would define the dedication that an individual has to pursue nursing as course. The scholarship program will be an added advantagein my career as it will open to me other opportunities of leading in the nursing profession. Generally, the information received from my practicum has opened my eyes on the need to go for scholarships for my furtherstudies/ Making effective changesin nursing professional would come from advanced learning of the nurse as one would be provided with better position of leadership that can great change.
