Recommendation for nursing education that will be most effective in creating change within the industry include the implementation of systems, structures, as well as the evidence-based interventions to support/support nurse’s health and well-being. Also, nursing education programs should be designed to ensure that nurses are prepared to effectively address social determinants of health and achieve health equity for the patients/population. Nursing education should be designed to enable nurses to understand the social determinants of health and how they impact patients. Nurses need to be able to identify the social factors that are impacting a patient’s health and be able to take action to address them. The social determinants of health include things like income, education, race, and ethnicity (Wakefield et al., 2021). These factors play a role in determining a person’s access to healthcare and their overall health. Nurses need to be aware of these factors and how they impact patients so that they can provide better care.

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine convened a committee of experts to study the roles and contributions of APRNs in providing high-quality health care. I agree with how this report describes the evolution of the advanced practice registered nurse role The consensus report of the committee, released in October 2017, describes the evolution of APRN roles to meet the changing needs of patients and families (Wakefield et al., 2021). The report notes that APRNs are essential members of the health care team and play a critical role in delivering high-quality care. It recommends expanding the scope of practice for APRNs to include more services that can be delivered independently. This, I believe, would help improve access to care for millions of Americans who lack timely access to quality health care.
