Effective leadership implores one to understand their abilities and styles. Nurses and nurse leaders who understand their strengths and abilities succeed and perform better in their tasks in different care settings (Broome & Marshall, 2021). Based on the Gallup StrengthsFinder assessment results, my top five themes include positivity, responsibility, arranger, achiever, and relator. Positivity means that I always seek the positive in all contexts and people enjoy being around me as their world looks better because my enthusiasm is contagious.

Responsibility entails taking psychological ownership for anything that I commit to and feeling emotionally obliged to ensure that it is completed irrespective of the obstacles (Gallup, 2022). As an arranger it implies that I ensure that managing situations leads to good alignment that leads to most effective configuration possible. As a nurse, doing my duties is not something special and it always essential to figure out the best way to get things done. As an achiever, I am inclined to attaining the best outcomes and look forward to getting accomplishing tasks. Relator as a theme describes one’s attitude towards interactions and relationships. being a relator means that I am pulled towards people.

Based on these themes, the two core values that I need to enhance or improve is my relationship with people and integrity. As a relator, one needs to set parameters so that people understand their position on issues (Gallup, 2022). Integrity implies seeking transparency and honest approaches to issues and interactions. This leads to more persuasion and inspiration to the people. The two strengths to improve include self-awareness and critical thinking skills. Self-awareness allows one to understand their situation and approaches to issues while critical thinking skills are essential to addressing pertinent issues in problem solving situations. The two characteristics that I would like to improve include my attitude and perception of people. While I am positive about issues, I have a bias for being judgmental and seeking perfection from people (Bianchi et al., 2018). I expect increased reliability on their issues and believe that they should always get the best out of their performance. However, it is important to value divergent views from people.

Through this assessment, you will discover your top five themes—which you can reflect upon and use to leverage your talents for optimal success and examine how the results relate to your leadership traits.
