            Nursing leadership is crucial in informing patient healthcare decisions during medication administration. The decision-making approach needs to be anchored on evidence-based studies on medical errors in clinical practice. Evidence-based practice (EBP) has been established to be extremely effective in managing vital domains of healthcare. As such, EBP is likely to assist in restructuring the medication administration, thus, ensuring a more sound process of providing medication and minimizing the risk of medication errors. Nurses are required to apply appropriate procedures for the administration of medications to protect patients against medication errors.  Currently, there is a need to include nurses in leadership and policy development due to their immense positive influence on quality indicators in healthcare (Nurmeksela et al., 2022).

            The type of scholarly nursing research that would be required to further investigate the issue of medication errors is qualitative research.                The CRAAP test is a contraction for Currency, Relevance, Authority, Accuracy, and Purpose (Lowe et al., 2021). The CRAAP test applies to the selected article. Concerning currency, the article was published in 2022 and the contents are up to date. Regarding relevance, the purpose of the study is relevant to my topic on medication errors and also provides answers to my investigation. The authority entails the authors of the article.  Regarding accuracy, the article is accurate because it is anchored on research and other studies. It is also supported by proof. The purpose of the article is to inform and teach the readers.

            My next step after speaking with my classmate is to create awareness about plagiarism. I will inform the classmate that such actions are considered plagiarism, which is a serious academic offense and a violation of GCU policy.  Plagiarism entails using another person’s work without acknowledging that person by citing the source (Perkins et al., 2020). This action amounts to disrespecting the work and ideas of the original author. As such, it is important to advise my classmate that borrowing ideas from other sources is allowed but the sources must be properly acknowledged by citing them. Ideally, citing the sources of the information is crucial in enhancing the entire appeal of the essay because the readers can ascertain that the student did proper research (Awasthi, 2019). It also provides readers with additional information about the sources and also an indication that the student is a responsible scholar who gives credit to other authors and appreciates their ideas.

               Plagiarism can affect the credibility and integrity of the individuals involved, the university, and the profession. Involvement in plagiarism can make the student to be put on academic probation or discontinued from the university. It can also make students lose credibility in the professional field of study and damage their professional or academic careers. Moreover, punishment for plagiarism destroys the reputation of the student and erodes the trust, respect, and confidence of the instructor and the peers in the student (Emmanuel et al., 2021).  Plagiarism can also cause considerable damage to the University. Plagiarism can undervalue a degree obtained from the University, which may cause the graduates to lose value in the job market. Regarding the effect of plagiarism on the credibility of the nursing profession, plagiarism damages the future of nursing research because it erodes the trust in the published nursing evidence (Emmanuel et al., 2021). It also reduces existing funding because fresh projects anchored on past scientific inquiry and subsidies rely on the integrity of the researcher.
